Westbrook missed game for birth of twin girls

Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook missed Saturday night’s game against the Phoenix Suns for “personal reasons.”

On Sunday, he posted an explanation on social media:

Westbrook and his wife, Nina, announced about two months ago that they were expecting twin girls. They have an 18-month-old son named Noah.

Russell and Nina Westbrook, who both played college basketball at UCLA, were married in 2015.

Westbrook has been sidelined with sprained left ankle suffered Monday in a win over the New Orleans Pelicans. It remains unclear if Westbrook will rejoin the team in time for Monday’s game against the Kings in Sacramento.
